The challenge
The Koppel Project is a London arts charity, gallery and creative hub, founded in 2016. It supports early and mid-career artists by offering affordable studios and communal spaces across several London locations — including Chalk Farm in Camden, Elephant & Castle, Wandsworth Road in Lambeth, Battersea and Kingston — alongside a busy public programme of exhibitions, workshops, open studios and events.
That gives the website two very different audiences. Artists and makers are looking for an affordable studio in a particular part of London and want to know what each building offers. The public is looking for something to see or do: an exhibition opening, a drawing or bookbinding workshop, an open-studios weekend, a film night. Both need to find what they want quickly, and every location and every event needs to be discoverable in its own right.
What we did
The Koppel Project received our full pack: website, SEO, digital and social media marketing, and analytics.
Website for an arts charity and creative hub
We built the website around the charity’s two audiences:
- a studios section with a page for each building — KOPPEL Collective in Chalk Farm, KOPPEL Heights in Elephant & Castle, KOPPEL Lambeth on Wandsworth Road, KOPPEL Practice in Battersea and the Kingston studios — describing the space, the location and who it is for
- a locations section giving each site its own address, character and context
- a programme of events with individual pages for exhibitions, workshops, open studios and film nights, so each one can be shared and found on its own
- about pages telling the story of the charity and its mission to support artists
SEO for artist studios in London
We optimised studio and location pages for the searches artists make — affordable studios by area of London — and gave each event page clear titles and descriptions, so exhibitions and workshops can be found by people searching for things to do.
Digital and social media marketing
We ran digital and social media marketing for the charity, promoting studio availability to artists and the public programme to audiences across London, with every campaign pointing to the specific studio or event page.
Analytics
We set up analytics across the website and campaigns, so the team can see which studios, locations and events draw interest and which channels bring people in.
The results
The Koppel Project now has a website that reflects the scale of what it does:
- every London location has its own studio and location pages, ready for local searches
- every exhibition, workshop and open-studios event has a page that can be found, shared and promoted
- artists and the public each have a clear path to what they came for
- SEO, digital and social media marketing and analytics run together as one continuous programme, giving the charity reach across London for both studios and programme
